We asked for a highchair to put my baby's car seat on, the lady understood and said she would get us one. Well a few minutes past and no one showed up with it because she had to talk to her supervisor about the menu and about the week coming up as she just leaned against the wall talking. We were the only customers in the place, so it's not like they were busy. Needless to say we left since our business isn't important enough for them, they rather chat about other things with other staff members then serve their customers!
Great food great service.
The food and drinks are very delicious here. It's a good restaurant to have a date in. The servers are very good with bringing your orders. Just make sure you have the right bill before you sign that receipt. 🙄 They gave us the wrong bill
The food is always delicious and the service is excellent!
Wonderful ol place, really takes you back in time. I really love this place. We go there every time we are in Visalia CA. The food is wonderful. The grill is open out front, you see your food being made.
Worst mexican restaurant I've been. Once you walk in smells like old fry oil. I could also smell it on the chips. My husband ordered shredded beef flautas and they were horrible! Tacos weren't good either. Wasted my money. What a disappointment!!
Nice location..nice inside..good food..chips were hot and fresh. Good service was kinda busy but got a seat right away..our waiter never left us hanging he kept checking on us. I will be going back 👍
Ate here for my mothers birthday, horrible experience food was definitely not fresh, waited almost an hour for cold food & brown guacamole. Definitely do not recommend this place. Feel sad that the cook lost his drive for great cooking. If I can give it a zero for the cooking I definitely would.
Amazing food amazing service highly recommend by me
Super friendly staff! Thanks!
On the main street with cool historic feel. Resturant had a real Miami Cuban style feel to it with the architecture and lights. Had the Green Chilie burrito and it was awesome. Would definitely go again.
Love this place! Really great Mexican food. They get busy so plan accordingly.
Lived in Visalia for over 31 years ago. I come back to find the best Mexican Visalia has ever had. Try the Fantastic Burrito!
I love the feeling of this place and we come at least 3 times a month. They accommodate my three year old and the dietary needs of my husband. The service is always good and their drinks are reasonably priced. The food is good. There is room to improve, and if you are looking to be impressed or eat something fancy, this is NOT that kind of restaurant. However, their carnitas is moist, spicy chicken tasty, margaritas strong, and chips hot. Good, solid, and consistent.
Everytime I am in Visalia I come to Henry Salazaar's fresh tex mex grill. Over 18 year I have had their menu all the way. The menu now is updated and fresh. Fresh grill Atlantic salmon with garlic lemon sauce is cooked to perfection. Rib eye steak nice and juice with double baked potatoes was fabulous. Goat cheese chili rellno was yummy, these are few to mention. Check out their authentic Mexican food like super burrito and other combo plates just been fantastic and consistent for past 2 decades. A must have in downtown Visalia
Great food great service
Great Mexican food with a few other choices. Great service, complimentary chips are always warm. Nice atmosphere.
Worst mexican food ever
Our favorite place for an intimate date night. The staff is absolutely wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable.
Good food. My word is all I can say. It was great
Me and my husband really like this place. Good food.
Lisa is an awesome server, makes great Micheladas, and the food was super good.
Went in for Sunday brunch. Smells old, looks dim and understaffed. Food was just meh.
Been to Hawaii, Vegas, New Mexico, Arizona and Chihuahua Mexico, had a great experience in Santa Monica dinning there. Passing through to Yosemite national park, stopped for some Mexican food, but portions are not what I expected and food was not hot like if it had just been made fresh. Pretty disappointed should have ate taco bell.
Excellent food, but slow service and lots of noise.
The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere has a refined yet relaxed tone.
Our go to place for a quality Mexican dinner. Good atmosphere, good food, good service. Never had a bad meal here. Love the salsa! My favorite is the spicy chicken taco plate.
If you or in or around Visalia you have to stop in and Henry Salazar's Mexican restaurant the food is excellent, the friendly service is great I've been to a lot of restaurants but this one stands out from all the rest. It's always good to call ahead especially on busy nights, I am Steve the ghost Jefferies hoping that you will stop in and Henry Salazar's Mexican restaurant have a few drinks and best of all have you delicious food you will not be sorry.
This was the best Mexican-style restaurant I've ever eaten at. Loved the chicken chimichanga dish. Everything was delicious, the waiter was very attentive, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. 5/5 would eat there again.
By far the best mexican food I've had out here. Look no where else! The lobster enchiladas are a must. They are absolutely amazing. The drinks are really good too. But my favorite thing is the salsa... It's sooo good! It's got a little kick to it. On top of everything the staff here is absolutely amazing and friendly.
Great food very tasty
Food is great everytime we come here. The waitress is always very nice and food comes out quick!
Haven’t eaten here for a very long time and that won’t happen again. There was a 45 minute wait at Alejandra’s so we walked down Main Street. There wasn’t a soul in Salazar’s which made us nervous. They need some updates marketing or something. Or we’ll just keep it our secret. Either way, no one in our 10 person party left hungry and everyone raves about their dishes. I had the chimichanga and it was superb. The top shelf margarita was also perfect!
Poor service . The place wasnt that busy and we were still waiting 30 min to order our food. I ordered the shrimp tacos which came with 3 small shrimp on each taco . There was no flavor in the tacos other than the corn tortilla. Warm beer . Not very satisfied at all .
Just had dinner, no atmosphere, ordered a pina colada and a Margarita and they were served in simple small cocktail glasses and just a bit bland. Ordered a Fiesta platter and most of it was deep fried. No Mexican sauces with any of the items, did I say no atmosphere? Well anyway I can't think why I would go back. Wait staff was polite and attentive, perhaps the only part of the experience worth complementing.
Was good, forgot it was even here will be coming back. Kind of surprised it was empty during the lunch rush , food was fresh service was great
We enjoy the meals here, made fresh and delicious! Love the Shelf Margarita!
HS serving great burritos and tacos that are sure to satisfy. If you haven’t tried their fantastico burrito you are missing out! Not to mention the staff are friendly and fast to serve!
Very Bad. Do not order the seafood burrito, just frozen fish and no assortment of sea food. Asada is Salty, orders were so wrong considering we were celebrating a Birthday!
Once again we . . . Always have excellent food and fantastic service! Thanks to Henry, Bob, Adam, Lisa and the rest of the crew. Rp
My absolutely favorite place to eat! The food is always delicious, service is friendly and Henry is always welcoming. Atmosphere is wonderful.
Excellent food, a little pricey but not the most expensive place in town. Servers have excellent knowledge of their menu and make really great suggestions. Try the guacamole.
I love the Burrito Fantastico here. But it also has a quiet somewhat upscale atmosphere. Great for when my husband and I want a quieter date night
The cheese enchilada in green sauce is the best enchilada I have ever had. Very flavorful green sauce. Creamy cheese and they serve it with a little sour cream on the side. I order one with a side of rice and I am good to go. I did order a top shelf margarita and was disappointed. The drink it self was really salty (not the salt on the rim, actual salt in the drink). Really nice atmosphere. Prices are a little high but I think it is justified for the quality of food you get. My friend had the Farmer's Market quesadilla (veggies) and really liked it.
Food was fresh and hot. The taste is great. Prices are a little on the high side. Service is fast and friendly
Food was good, nice decor, too bad they don't have a kid menu.
I had the patstachio encrusted chicken. It was very good. Service was great. Adam was our server. He did a wonderful job. I would definitely go again.
Had asada taco and meat tasted old and did not look like asada.
Food was not good and service was lousy. For me one star rating is too high. Bad choice all together
Love it! Great food! Sometimes they can take forever to get your food
